State seeks engineering firm for Fairbanks airport road project

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting proposals through May 13 for engineering design work on the Terminal Access Road at Fairbanks International Airport.

The project will rehabilitate the road that connects the airport terminal to the main highway. The state expects to award a contract worth between $500,000 and $999,999 for design work and technical support during construction, which would run from June 2026 through December 2028.

The request for proposals package will be available April 22 on the department's website at dot.alaska.gov/procurement/awp/awp-rfp-cal.cfm. Firms can also pick up the package in person at the Engineering Services Building, Room 3, 2301 Peger Road in Fairbanks, or request it by mail by calling (907) 451-2247.

Proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on May 13. The department will accept electronic submissions through its ZendTo system at drop.state.ak.us/drop, with files sent to [email protected]. Firms can also drop off proposals at a locked box at the west side entrance of the Tech Services Building and call or text (907) 799-5632 for timestamping.
