State proposes five-year lease extension for Kodiak Airport hangar

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting public comments through May 22 on a proposal to extend an aircraft hangar lease at Kodiak Airport for five more years.

Brent Arndt applied to extend Lease ADA-09147, which covers approximately 18,404 square feet at Lot 4, Block 1600. The hangar is used for aircraft storage and maintenance, storing a mobile fuel truck, and vehicle parking in support of a commercial aviation business. Annual rent would be $3,993.67 plus associated fees.

The department can grant the extension without competitive bidding under Alaska Statute 02.15.090(c). After the May 22 deadline, the department will decide whether to approve the extension. Only people who submit written comments by 4:30 p.m. on that date will receive notice of the decision.
