Alaska seeks bids for fire trucks through multi-state purchasing program

The Alaska Department of Administration is accepting proposals through June 10 for fire trucks and fire apparatus as part of a multi-state purchasing cooperative.

The request for proposals, issued May 1 by Mississippi on behalf of NASPO ValuePoint, aims to secure better pricing through combined purchasing power of multiple states and local governments. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Central Time on June 10.

The resulting contracts will be available to Alaska state agencies, municipalities, school districts, and other government entities statewide. Local governments must comply with their own procurement rules to use the agreements.

NASPO ValuePoint is a cooperative purchasing program that allows states and local governments to pool their buying power. The program is designed to achieve lower prices than individual entities could negotiate alone.
