Alaska Intertie Management Committee to meet May 1 in Anchorage

The Alaska Intertie Management Committee will hold a regular meeting May 1 at 9 a.m. to discuss operations of the transmission line connecting Railbelt utilities.

The meeting will take place at the Alaska Energy Authority board conference room at 813 West Northern Lights Boulevard in Anchorage. Members of the public can attend in person or participate by phone at 1-888-585-9008, using access code 212-753-619#.

The Alaska Intertie is a 170-mile transmission line that connects electrical grids from Fairbanks to Anchorage. The management committee oversees operations and maintenance of the line, which allows utilities to share power across the Railbelt.

The Alaska Energy Authority has not released an agenda for the meeting. The agency said it will accommodate disabled persons who need special modifications to participate.
