State seeks public comment on property replat near Chitina

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments through May 18, 2026, on a proposal to replat property in the Chitina area.

Logan Lappi has petitioned the state to eliminate existing boundary lot lines and create a new plat configuration for property in Section 23, Township 6 North, Range 1 West, Copper River Meridian. The original lot lines were established in a warranty deed recorded in August 1978.

The department will hold a public hearing by teleconference at 11:00 a.m. on May 20, 2026. To participate, call 1-800-315-6338 and enter access code 98627 followed by the pound sign.

Under state law, anyone who wants to appeal the decision must participate in the comment process either in writing or at the public hearing.
