State seeks public comment on placer mining plan near Flat

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments through May 11 on a placer mining application for Dodge Creek in the Innoko Mining District near Flat. JCG Properties and Exploration Corp has applied to conduct mechanical placer mining on state lands through December 2035.

The company plans to mine on claims in sections 15, 21, 22, and 27 of Township 27 North, Range 12 East. The application includes requests for a plan of operations approval, reclamation plan approval, and authorization for cross-country travel on state lands outside the mining claims.

The Department of Natural Resources will review the application under state mining regulations and may issue an authorization with conditions. The agency may also modify the proposed activity during the review process.
