State seeks proposals for Knik-Goose Bay Road engineering study

The Alaska Department of Transportation is accepting proposals through April 30 for a value engineering study on two Knik-Goose Bay Road reconstruction projects in the Mat-Su Borough.

The study will examine plans to rebuild Knik-Goose Bay Road from Vine Road to Settlers Bay Drive and from Centaur Avenue to Vine Road. The state expects to award a contract worth $100,000 to $150,000 for the work, which would run from May 2026 through August 2026.

Value engineering studies review project designs to identify ways to reduce costs or improve performance without sacrificing quality. The contractor will assemble a team to analyze the road reconstruction plans according to state transportation policy.

Proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2026. The request for proposals package is available at the Department of Transportation plans room at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage or online at https://ui.bidx.com/ALASKA/lettings.
