State seeks comment on King Salmon Airport lease amendment by May 7

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting public comments through May 7 on a proposal to expand the authorized uses of an airport lease at King Salmon Airport.

The amendment would allow Jason H. Lazore to use Lot 4B, Block 300 — a 6,997-square-foot parcel — for operating a recreational cabin and floating aircraft dock, parking aircraft, loading and unloading supplies and passengers, providing air taxi and charter services, storing materials and equipment for airlifting, and parking recreational equipment, boats, and vehicles. The lease expires May 15, 2027, with annual rent of $1,777.24.

Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on May 7, 2026. The department will notify only those who submit written comments of its decision on whether to amend the lease.
