State seeks bids for Tuluksak fuel storage upgrades

The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development is accepting bids for a bulk fuel storage upgrade project in Tuluksak, a Yup'ik village of about 400 people on the lower Kuskokwim River.

The project will install new aboveground fuel storage tanks, steel containment dikes, fuel dispensing systems, and related electrical work on a new gravel pad. The work is funded through a combination of state and federal money from the Environmental Protection Agency.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Potential bidders can join by phone at 1-469-810-0642 using conference ID 251 697 326#. There will be no scheduled site visit before the bid opening.

The project includes federal funding subject to the Build America Buy America Act, which requires domestic sourcing for materials unless an approved waiver applies. The EPA has issued waivers for tribal public interest, minor components, and de minimis uses where applicable.

The contract requires the winning bidder to furnish all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, tools, transportation, quality control, and supplies needed to complete the work.
