State seeks bids for Parks Highway reconstruction near Cantwell

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting sealed bids through May 28, 2026, for a major reconstruction project on the Parks Highway between mileposts 206 and 209 near Cantwell.

The project includes replacing the Pass Creek Bridge and rebuilding three miles of highway. The work also covers drainage improvements, roadside safety hardware, and utility upgrades. The state estimates the project will cost between $10 million and $20 million.

Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. on May 28, 2026, at the Department of Transportation office in Fairbanks. The winning contractor must complete the work by October 31, 2027.

Contractors can download plans and specifications free at https://ui.bidx.com/ALASKA/lettings. Hard copies are available for $100 per set from the Contracts Section at 2301 Peger Road in Fairbanks.

The department said it will ensure disadvantaged business enterprises have full opportunity to submit bids and will not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin.
