State seeks bids for new vault toilet at Mosquito Lake near Haines

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources will accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m. on June 4, 2026, for construction of a vault toilet at Mosquito Lake State Recreation Site near Haines.

The project includes installing a single concrete vault toilet with clearing, excavation, backfill, topsoil, and seeding work. The state estimates the project will cost between $100,000 and $250,000.

Bids must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on June 4 to the Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation office at 550 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 1340, Anchorage, Alaska 99501-3565. The department will open and publicly announce bids at 2:15 p.m. that day at the same location.

The state may hold bids for up to 40 days after opening to review proposals and investigate bidder qualifications before awarding the contract.

Contractors can download plans, specifications, and contract documents at http://dnr.alaska.gov/parks/designconstruct/bidcalresults.htm. The state encourages disadvantaged business enterprises to submit proposals.
