State seeks bids for $1M-$2.5M roof replacement at DPS headquarters

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting sealed bids through May 13, 2026, for a major roof replacement at the Department of Public Safety headquarters building in Anchorage.

The project will replace the roof and mechanical equipment on the building at 5700 East Tudor Road. Work includes removing hazardous materials and repairing interior finishes as needed. The state estimates the project will cost between $1 million and $2.5 million.

Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. on May 13, 2026, at the DOT&PF Central Region office at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage. The contractor must complete the work by November 15, 2026.

A non-mandatory site visit will take place at 10:00 a.m. on May 7, 2026, at the project location. Contractors planning to attend should notify project manager an unnamed participant at [email protected] by close of business on May 5, 2026.

Bidding documents are available for free download at https://www.bidx.com/ak/lettings. Companies must register online through the DOT&PF website at http://dot.alaska.gov/procurement/awp/awp-bids.cfm?rc=CR or with the Central Region Plans Room, or their bids may not be accepted. Paper copies cost $100 per set from the Central Region Plans Room.
