State proposes 10-year lease for guide site near Swift River

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments through May 14, 2026, on a proposed 10-year lease for a 2-acre guide site on an unnamed lake south of the Swift River, about 28 miles northeast of Lime Village.

The Southcentral Regional Land Office made a preliminary decision to lease the existing site to Grizzly Exped LLC. The site sits on the north shore of a remote lake in Section 36 of Township 17 North, Range 30 West, Seward Meridian.

The lease would allow the guide operation to continue using the site for the next decade. The location appears on the Lime Hills C-5 USGS quadrangle map.

Anyone who wants to appeal the final decision must submit written comments during this comment period, according to state law.
