FAA seeks 20-year agreement for navigation equipment at Stevens Village Airport

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting public comments through May 8 on a proposed 20-year agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration for navigation equipment at Stevens Village Airport.

The FAA would use various locations at the airport for aeronautical navigation aids under the agreement. The state would charge no rent for the use of the airport land.

Stevens Village Airport serves the community of Stevens Village, located on the Yukon River about 90 miles north of Fairbanks. The airport provides the primary transportation link for the village of roughly 75 residents.

Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on May 8, 2026. After that deadline, the department will decide whether to execute the agreement.

The department reserves the right to correct technical defects or reject any or all comments.
