DOT&PF seeks public input on Tudor-Muldoon speed limits at June 10 hearing

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting public testimony on proposed speed limit changes for Tudor Road and Muldoon Road between Minnesota Drive and Boundary Avenue at a hearing June 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Loussac Library.

The corridor currently has speed limits ranging from 40 to 50 mph and has recorded a notably high pedestrian fatality rate. The Anchorage Assembly passed a resolution requesting a lower speed limit for the stretch. Alaska News previously reported that DOT&PF is working on a Muldoon Road resurfacing project and a Tudor Road interchange redesign in the same area.

The hearing will begin with a short presentation followed by formal public testimony. Residents may provide up to three minutes of verbal testimony or submit written comments to [email protected] for inclusion in the official record. Written comments intended to be read aloud during the hearing must be 450 words or fewer and include the commenter's full name and street or neighborhood of residence.

The hearing will take place in the Wilda Marston Theater at Loussac Library, 3600 Denali Street. Residents can learn more at dot.alaska.gov/besafe/tudor-muldoon.
