Anchorage starts the week with showers and gray skies

Anchorage heads into Monday with another cool, gray forecast.

The National Weather Service calls for scattered showers this afternoon, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 52. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Southeast wind will blow around 10 mph.

Showers remain possible tonight, mainly before 1 a.m. The low will drop near 41. Southeast wind at 5 to 10 mph will shift southwest after midnight.

Monday looks much the same. The weather service calls for scattered showers, mainly before 4 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 50. Light east wind will become southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation stays at 30 percent.

Monday night will stay mostly cloudy, with a low near 42. Southeast wind could rise to 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

The unsettled pattern will continue through midweek. The forecast calls for scattered showers Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs near 48 both days.
