Alaska Railroad seeks bids for retirement plan services by May 15

The Alaska Railroad Corporation is accepting proposals from firms to manage its employee retirement plans, with bids due May 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Alaska time.

The railroad is looking for a company to handle administration, record keeping, education, communications, investment services, and other functions for its 401(k) and 457(b) retirement plans. The plans held approximately $160 million in total assets as of December 31, 2025.

Firms interested in bidding must submit one electronic version of their proposal by email to Ned Taylor at [email protected] and copy Sarah Wallace at [email protected]. Proposals must include a questionnaire portion in Word format and a complete exhibit folder in electronic form.

The request for proposals, identified as RFP 26-14-214404, opened April 21, 2026. The railroad posted the full request for proposal document and related plan documents on the state's online public notice system.
