Air Force seeks 2,000 cubic yards of gravel near Fairbanks

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources plans to issue a material sale contract to the United States Air Force for extraction of 2,000 cubic yards of gravel from a site 22 miles northwest of Fairbanks. The contract covers a location near milepost 14 of Murphy Dome Road.

The Air Force's 354th Contracting Squadron applied for the material sale under state regulations governing extraction on designated sites. The department's Northern Regional Office will authorize the extraction.

The site sits at approximately latitude 64.9496 north, longitude 148.3345 west. The department published the notice April 22 and will archive it May 7.
